Bread Halwa

Ingredients:
  • Bread 1/2 pack (12 slices)
  • Milk - 1 1/4 Cup
  • Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Cardamom Powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Cashew nuts
  • Ghee - 4  tablespoon
  • Butter - 1/4 stick
Procedure:
  • Remove the dried edges of the bread slices
  • Cut the bread slices into small pieces.
  • Place a non stick pan on the stove, pour 2 spoon ghee and fry the bread till golden brown.
  • Add the milk to the pan stir it well
  • Add the sugar also and stir it continuously till no lumps are formed.
  • Add the cardamom powder to the mixture and stir it.
  • Add the butter and keep mixing the contents well till it is of Halwa texture.
  • Fry cashews in ghee and add the same to the halwa.
  • Halwa is ready to eat now.

one of the most easiest halwa receipe ever seen. this halwa looks too inviting and i am tempted to prepare this right away.....

I have actully tasted this sweet in a marriage at Madurai.i din know tat it was made out of bread. My dad loved it so much.bt I din know the recipe.bt now I do it and get appreciations from my dad.thanx a lot
